Healey Dam

This quiet and tranquil venue lies at the bottom of Ossett towards the railway tracks and next to the river calder. With a wide variety of fish to catch this out of the way venue always makes for a good session of fishing.

The fishery:

The dam hosts enough pegs for around 30 anglers. When pleasure fishing you will often only find a handful of anglers at any one time.

The dam holds good stocks of Carp, Tench and Bream with plenty of Roach, Rudd and Perch to keep the bites coming. Throughout the summer there are many natural weed beds, rushes and overhanging trees to provide features to fish up to.

Access this fishery by driving down Healy Road to the junction at the bottom. Looking out of the junction diagonally to the right you will see a small road at the side of the warehouse and next to the River Calder. Follow this narrow road under the bridges and it is your second left before the red gates to the mills at the bottom. A gate key is required for access to the car park with ample room at the side of the dam.
