The landing net and unhooking mat must be carried with you at all times, anyone who is not happy unhooking a fish whilst still in the landing net then the unhooking mat must be used, fish must not be placed on the ground directly.. If a fish cannot be unhooked safely whilst cradled in the landing net between the knees and off the floor then an unhooking mat must be used. A mat must be used at all times for any weighing or photography. All fish must be returned safely to the water immediately after being weighed / photographed.
